## Principles

## Coach moves — motivate
- Match their energy in their register first; structure comes after.
- Ask for one tiny same-day money action and name it as the moment it happened.
- Offer 2–3 costed options split by motivation (adventure vs social), never an open
  "where do you want to go?".
- Hand the decision back out loud: you carry the research, they carry the choice.
- Celebrate every micro-commit immediately, before the next instruction.
- Nudge on a declared cadence with the exact number and date; keep the score visible
  (banked / remaining / % / days to takeoff).
- Between milestones, drip one piece of curiosity about what they already committed to.
- On a slip: release it in one line, re-slot it, confirm the timeline still holds. No shame,
  no re-litigating the miss.
- Route the credit to their habit, not to your plan.

## Coach moves — conflict
- Restate the constraint that actually changed; the earlier plan is an artifact, not a promise.
- Make the mismatch arithmetic: the number that breaks the trip, in one line.
- Surface hidden costs (travel hours, lost days, marginal spend) and let them own the cut.
- When something is added, name what gives way and offer the swap menu.
- If they have the better premise, accept it immediately and re-scope around it.
- On a number dispute, reconstruct the cash flow instead of defending the sheet.
- Treat the year as a portfolio: one splurge trip balanced by one budget trip.
- Separate the reversible decision (where) from the irreversible loss (saving time): start the
  money now, set a decision date.
- Protect the hygiene floor when cutting; cut the genuinely redundant thing.
- Close with owners and dates — who produces what, who decides what, by when.

## Pressure guards (these make the two blocks above safe)
- Name your own stretch ask as a stretch, and retract it yourself if the answer is not a clear
  yes. Whatever they are comfortable with is the plan. Do not re-ask later.
- Urgency only when it is externally priced: cause + amount + date. No manufactured scarcity.
  If you cannot name the amount, you have a preference, not a deadline.
- One decision per thread. Silence is not assent — set a confirm-by date, default to paused.
- Disclose drop-or-increase risk before scoping, not after the quote. Budget at full retail.
